It can be difficult to report any incident of sexual harassment and stalking. You may feel anxious, worried and even fearful if you do report particularly if you know your perpetrator. You may even think there is little point reporting as nothing will get done or you have had previous negative experiences with the police.
However it is vital that incidents of sexual harassment and stalking are reported so that the University has a full picture of what is happening within our community. This knowledge could help us to take targeted action and in the future, better support others who may face similar experiences. It may feel daunting to report any incident but the University can support you through the reporting process.
If you have concerns that you are being sexually harassed or you are being stalked you can contact the Police and make a report directly to them. To report to the Police phone 101 or visit a Police Station. In an emergency always call 999.
If you are a student and require any advice or support of how to proceed with the police please contact the Wellbeing Advisors at advice@liverpool.ac.uk or you can phone on 0151 795 1000. If you are a staff member you can contact HR at hr@liverpool.ac.uk or you can phone on 0151 794 6771.
